Industry-Academia Collaboration Process

Applicant
Department/Graduate Institute/Center should submit the signed agreement of the entrusted or granted institution and application for 1st Term Payment. The Documents below must also be attached:
- Project/Agreement: An electronic file of the agreement shall be sent to the legal personnel of NYCU for review. Please see Step 2.

- Project Convener Self-Inspection Statement, Confidentiality and Ownership Agreement for Researchers, Interest Avoidance and Information Disclosure Statement (A three-in-one attachment of industry-academia collaboration contract) ⭳ odt ⭳ doc

Contract Reviews and Auditing Operations:
Please send the electronic file of the agreement to the contact . We will provide our legal opinion within three working days.
Once the electronic file has been reviewed and approved, it can proceed to the administrative procedure for signing and stamping.
Please adopt the online signature process, and ensure that the following signed and stamped scanned copies are uploaded:
Contract (signed or stamped by the project convener), Three-in-one attachment of industry-academia collaboration contract (signature can be done via electronic signature or paper signature)

Applicant
- Please go to the document management system and select “Circulate” to send it to the Project Affairs Section personnel in charge for processing.
- Submit a copy of the finalized document, the hard copy contract, and the hard copy of the Three-in-one attachment of industry-academia collaboration contract to the Office of Research and Development. The Office of Research and Development will affix a cross-page seal on the side of the contract to prevent tampering and will retain other documents. Once completed, please forward it to the Documentation Section for the official contract seal.
Note
- Article 7 of the NYCU Guidelines on R&D Results and Technology Transfer: “The University accepts industry-academia collaboration projects entrusted by private sector organizations for profit-making purposes. If the contract stipulates that all research and development results produced from the collaboration belong to the collaborating entity, the contract must allocate at least 15% of the collaboration research funds and no more than 40% as an early-stage technology transfer fee in principle. The distribution of income from these rights shall be handled following the provisions of Article 9 of these regulations.”
- On the contract, the University is one of the signing party and the President is the representative followed by the project convener.
