Licensing Process

The cooperating enterprises, inventors’ representatives, and our University must sign a tripartite agreement. The templates are as follows:
- Technology Licensing Contract Template ⭳ odt:The R&D results of our faculty and students are protected by trade secrets, know-how, and proprietary technologies. Please refer to this template when licensing these results to others for use or implementation. The template includes provisions for both exclusive and non-exclusive licensing models.
- R&D Results Transfer Agreement Template ⭳ odt:When the University’s patent rights are to be transferred for use or implementation by others, please refer to this template.

Agreement Negotiation
- Proceed with Openness: Information on technology transfers is made public via an announcement to allow each enterprise to have a fair opportunity to take part.
- Licensing Fees:Licensing to profit-making businesses shall require a licensing fee. If products resulting from licensing are launched, any derived loyalty shall be additionally charged.
- Non-exclusive Licensing: Licensing to various enterprises helps to achieve the purpose of technology diffusion. If licensing involves prevention from improper competition to hinder industrial development, requirement for long-term evaluation of development after licensing by a government or requirement to invest with a huge amount to commercialize, each individual case shall be evaluated before granting licensing.
- Licensing period:shall be based on the principle of full utilization and realization of technological value.

Agreement signing
Administrative Process
- After the three parties confirm that the agreement content is accurate, the cooperating enterprises will first affix their seal and then send it to the inventor’s representative for signature and seal.
- The inventor will submit the signed and sealed agreement for invoicing, which their respective department, the Intellectual Property Management and Promotion Center, and the Cashiers Section/Accounting and Statistics Office will process with approval from the Secretariat.
- Once the three-party sealing is completed and the payment is received, the Intellectual Property Management and Promotion Center will handle the subsequent revenue distribution.
